From the moment of the conception of Catholics in the Public Square, CPS has been bathed in prayer. Margaret Williams is our prayer coordinator and has undertaken the important task of coordinating organized prayer for CPS throughout the state. We know that without prayer and heavenly intercession, our mission will not succeed.

We chose three strong patrons to intercede on our behalf. St. Thomas More is our patron saint. He was chosen because like most of those involved in Catholics in the Public Square, he was a lay person. He had a wife and four children. He risked everything he had—his career, his social life, and his safety— for his faith. In the end, he even gave his life. He makes us ask ourselves what we might be willing to risk to defend our faith?

St. Michael the Archangel is our defender. He is the greatest warrior of all time. As we know, we are involved in a spiritual war against good and evil. We ask him to defend and protect us.

We choose our Holy Mother Mary, Queen of the Rosary, to be our intercessor, to intercede before the throne of God on our behalf, and to guide us.

To ensure CPS is constantly covered in prayer, we ask all those who are a part of CPS to pray the Prayer to St. Michael (found here or by clicking on the image of St. Michael on our homepage) daily for our projects, our intentions, and the success of our mission. In addition, we are asking people to lead groups (of 6 or more--ideally) to commit to praying the Rosary and reciting the Prayer to St. Michael one day a week for the intentions and success of this mission. Margaret Williams keeps a record of which groups have committed to praying on which days of the week so that we are sure there is prayer cover for our mission every day.

Please contact Margaret Williams, our Prayer Coordinator, if you are willing to organize a group to cover us in prayer one day a week. Please know we are grateful for your prayers and support. Without them, CPS will not grow or succeed.
