The People's Override petition drive was overwhelmingly successful.  The people of Michigan spoke up in opposition to Governor Granholm's veto of the Legal Birth Definition Act (LBDA), and sent in over 460,000 signatures in less than three months. The legislation was again brought before both chambers, passed and became law, this time without the possibility of a veto by the Governor. 

CPS was pleased to partner with Right to Life in this important life-saving endeavor. The LBDA will outlaw partial birth abortions in the state of Michigan, a legal change that will have positive consequences for generations to come.   A special thank you is offered to all those who helped in this petition drive in any way.

The late Pope John Paul ll and our bishops have issued a challenge to us, the Catholic laity. We are to be a Catholic Voice in the Public Square in order to build a Culture of Life in our society. By joining with Right to Life of Michigan in this effort, we joined many voices as one, helping to make our voice heard.
